Portugal Masters, Oceânico Victoria Golf Course, Vilamoura, 16 Oct 2008 - 19 Oct 2008

Again, some of the World’s greatest golfers come to the Oceânico Victoria Golf Course in Vilamoura, to compete in the Portugal Masters 2008

The tournament, which has a €3m prize fund, will be watched by millions of people in countries spanning the globe. It was won by Steve Webster from England last year. This year, Robert Karlsson will attempt to extend his lead at the top of the Order of Merit, and match a record set by Tiger Woods, as he chases his third consecutive European Tour victory this week at the Portugal Masters.
.
The four-day event was a great success last year, being praised by players, The PGA and over 25,000 spectators, with the fantastic weather adding to the atmosphere, and the Arnold Palmer designed course providing plenty of drama – the Victoria course record was shattered on day one by Martin Kaymer with an eleven under par round.

The Portugal Masters will return to Oceânico Victoria in 2009.

This tournament has shown the world how important golf is in Portugal and has really helped to promote the country as a golfing destination.

This is good news for anyone who owns properties on or near a golf course, as an increasing number of golfers are attracted to Portugal. With the good climate it means properties can be rented out for 12 months of the year, as golfers visit the country year-round.
